06 Vibe 1ZZ engine RPM'S

Post by oldgizer »

How can I increase the rpm's beyond 6300 without having to replace the ECU? I have a camcon installed but this does nothing for RPM.Is there any attachment for increasing the RPM?

You would have to rebalance the engine with a different set of pistons and counterbalances, probably a different harmonic oscillator, etc.Really not worth it unless you are into hardcore racing...if you are looking for something like lift in the GT, you'd need to do an engine swap...Even still, you'd need to have the ECU reprogrammed to allow for higher rpms...The camcon is used primarily for controlling the timing of the cams (CAMshaft CONtroller) for more power (done by advancing or retarding timing based on engine conditions and fuel maps). For the 2zz, I believe the camcon allows you to also adjust the "lift point" - the point at which the second cam shaft becomes engaged...but, since I don't have a camcon, I can only speculate about this.

I answered your question in your other post asking this same thing. No need to post it more than once.Camcon does NOT change lift points!
