Wanna beta-test a new GPS?

Post by kostby »

No guarantee that you'll be selected, of course. I saw this offer on an auto blog I frequent. The GPS is called Dash Express, and supposedly it's the world's first web-connected GPS unit, with some unique features. They're looking for beta-tester candidates. Fill out the survey, and you could be selected for a free test of up to 6 months duration. Of course, there's a lengthy non-disclosure agreement, and you agree to give them up to 45 minutes a week for evaluation and feedback as well as other terms & conditions.According to the site, they'll select beta-testers by the end of May Link to Dash Express web site including Road Tester Survey & sign-up --> http://www.dash.net/

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

Interesting! I have a Garmin Street Pilot C330 and really dig it. If I tried this one and it was better, I would want one! Still waiting for a GPS/radar detector in one...

i have something somewhat siimilar to a gps/radar detector in one. Mine has a system in it that has a red light camera part and a speeding camera part. pretty much when u find the red light and speeding cameras, you just put them into the system telling it where they are and when you come up on them it lets you know.

the escort passport 9500i uses gps technology to help in the radar/laser detection and memory, but its a good start to a full blown gps nav/radar in one.

it looks impressive (and i definitely signed up), but aren't there already other units out there that can reroute you based on traffic conditions? it seems like i've read that they do things like give you an alternate route if your speed stays a certain percentage under the speed limit for too long rather than any sort of real time connectivity, but hey, if it gets the job done...
