My vibe came with a nice, softball sized, hole in the plastic panel on the inside of the hatch...Would a junk yard be my best bet for replacing the panel? What would be a fair price for them to charge me? The yard here has about a dozen Vibe's on the lot, most with little rear damage if any. Is there a difference between panels during different years or between Base/GT? Is it difficult to remove the panel? Thanks in advance...Dan
yes a junkyard would be your best bet. I cracked mine 2 to 3 years ago and just under $200 was the price then from the dealer new no difference between years or models even trix's(taken from another thread)[let say your sitting in the cargo area with the hatch closed.the are 3 tabs acrossed the top one in the middle and 2 about an inch in from each side.don't pry on the bottom of the panel there hooks down there.]its just push pinned on, you should be able to just pull on it and it will pop offwhere was the hole? anything behind it? you might keep it in case you want to mount speakers or maybe a sub in the hatch.
Try to locate a wrecked Vibe at http://www.car-part.com would be my suggestion, then start calling around to see if they have that trim piece.Scherry2's right - no difference between models or model years for the panel. Either color interior will have the same trim back there as well. So that really ups your chances of finding what you need.
