I bought my intake from ptuning.com and just installed it today. I would like to thank all members for there installation tips. Lancer's http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1281 post was well detailed with pic's and the most important was (thanks to DopeVibe GT) put the filter on the end before you attach the other end to the TB. It's much easier that way. Another thing I notice from Nova's pic on his Injen CAI install is that he used the original clamps for the silicone coupler on the throttle body. I'm sure it's not a big deal, but it looks more original with the stock clamps. Thanks again for all the great post.

I hope "unreal" isn't too much. The sound my exhaust makes at 3500 rpm under load can be classified as "unreal" too....WAY too loud for a comfortable 80 mph cruise for hours and hours. BUT, I love it the rest of the time for commuting. I can't wait until I have a couple of hours free to put on the CAI.

Got my Injen CAI installed today took me and friend 1 hr. It went in great. I noticed difference at takeoff. Doesnt seem to bottom out at 3000 rpms as much. I love it.
Still running smooth....... in 6th gear.War Damn Eagle!!!!Go Tigers!!!!
Has anyone else notice a drop in the RPM at idle or when you come to a stop? My car was @ 1K rpm when stock and now it's @ 6K-7K rpm after the CAI. The throttle also feels a lot more responsive since the install. I'm guessing it's because the engine doesn't have to work as hard to suck air through the airbox.

I just ordered my blue Injen CAI and matching blue Injen oil cap from Adventon.com. The total was $252.63 for both with shipping. Great price! Ptuning.com was about $40.00 more for the two items in polished. They didn't offer the blue color in either part. I will take some pics of it when I get it installed.

I had asked this once before on another topic but no oone answered. Does installing a CAI in any way void the warranty on the car or even any warranty on the engine/powertrain?Jim

He was just as satisfied as I was with the CAI mod. He also has one on order and I planned on giving him a hand with his install if needed. Triton GT, it was a pleasure to meet you.

Will the dealership install a CAI for you if you bring it in for installation.....or are we on our own for such projects? I have done worked on my cars in the past however, I had a vision of me buying a CAI and trying to install it myself and having an unexplainable problem pop up that I could not fix (paranoia I guess ). I just didn't want to attempt a project like this and F*#@ soimething up on my new Vibe GT. Thanks for the info.Jim

You do not have to drill or cut anything so it's all unbolting and bolting. Another person is helpful since the filter is very difficult to get on. I would recommend that you do it yourself since you learn a little more about your car

I would recommend that you do it yourself since you learn a little more about your car I agree, all you need is 10mm socket and 5/16 for the hose clamps. At the time I didn't have a helping hand to hold the tube still so I could place the filter on. In the process I ended up throwing my back out and now going to the chiropractor for a couple more visits.

Maybe could have put the filter on first before installing the CAI??

What is this hole that you are saying the CAI tube has to pass through? I want to install an Injen CAI myself before this summer and am very curious about this. I thought that the tube ran from the intake manifold over toward the driver's side fender then bent down and headed under the battery and stopped with the cone filter positioned at about right behind the driver's side fog light. Is this wrong? I didn't think that it passed through a hole in the fender or anything. I've been following this topic for a few months now and have not heard of this. And what makes putting the filter on afterward so difficult. Are there engine components or hoses in the way? Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, I know. I've had K&N filters before. They tell you not to use pressurized air because you will blow holes in the gauze-like material inbetween the mesh layers and ruin the filter. I meant the hole that mu_ohio was talking about that the CAI pipe has to pass through.

Well I installed my Injen on Thursday and I LOVE IT! Wow, I use to have a 95 Grand Am GT with a cone filter and I have since missed the deep sound the engine with the Injen I got it back, now if I could only get more power out of this Vibe. I think getting the Injen CAI is the best thing I ve done for the Vibe to date.

Man, this sounds like a great mod. Everyone who has put it on their Vibe loves it. I've gotta get one real soon. After the Flowmaster 60 series muffler goes on, maybe the Injen CAI will be next. I wanted to order the Hotchkis sway bars because they were on sale. Now I just have to come up with the funding for all of this. Plus my g/f wants to go on 2 vacations next month. I will be accepting monetary donations if anyone feels so inclined!

I just recieved my Injen intake today. Here is a pic of it just out of the box. I really like how even the filter is blue. Although you won't be able to see the filter once it is installed. I will have more pics after it is in.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I am really looking forward to getting it installed. I'm not sure if any other member has an Injen intake in any other finish besides polished? I would be interested in finding out if I am one of the first to get a different color.Hey rasermon, we definatley need to get a day set to do it. After taking yours for that short drive, I really can't wait to get this bad daddy in there!

No one. It is going to be a do it yourself job. Rasermon has installed one in his Vibe GT from instructions that Lancer posted in another thread. Rasermon is going to help me install it in mine because he just did it in his. It should be a relatively easy install having someone who just installed one help me out. Silverawd26 may be helping as well. Here is a link to the above mentioned post: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1281

I installed mine by myself today. It took about 1 1/2 hours. I think the hardest part was getting the filter on. I ended up mangling it a little but no real damage. I think when I take it off to clean it I'll probably cut the pipe down a little. Beside that it was pretty easy to install.I think eveyone should do this on their Vibe. The difference is incredible. It sounds great and when you hit lift the car screams.

No doubt the install is much easier if you can get help from a buddy or two. Attatching the filter is definately the hardest part. Hitting lift with the intake is amazing though.

The only one of my friends that I would trust messing with my car was going to help me. He was unavailable until Monday night and I was too impatient to wait.
