rear end noise when backing up?

I thought I'd read something about this on a previous post awhile back but couldn't find anything in search. Sorry if this has already been covered before.....I've noticed a new noise from my Vice when I'm backing up. It's a rather loud 'clunk' that seems to be coming from around the rear wheels? It only happens once each time I'm backing up. Anyone else experience this noise?I'm driving an AWD with about 23,000km on it so far.

Sorry, never heard of that before.Sounds like UV joints/drive train noise.I would make an appointment with your friendly neighbourhood dealer.Please let us know how you make out. Good luck

Had my vibe in for service yesterday and had them check this out. The info on the invoice is hard to figure out and of course there was no one around to explain it to me when I picked it up. But..... from what I can figure out the cause was a warped break drum (which they replaced). That would explain why it only made the noise when I was turning while backing up (not when going straight back).

You never told us you only heard the noise while you were turning and backing up. That makes all the difference in the world. Of course it was a brake problem. (just pulling your leg)That is a strange trouble. Hope that fixes it forever for you.
