high revs after shifting

Post by Puckman27 »

i think my car is trying to tell me that she wants a new clutch, but i just wanted to make sure that i'm right about this. lately when i get on the highway, after i shift into the next gear and hit the gas, the engine revs way up say, from 2k to 5-6k, then drops back down to normal rpms and finally picks up speed. it feels like its not catching the gears right. it only happens when i'm really trying to get going, not so much just cruising on city streets. would this be the clutch slipping or something worse w/ the transmission?

Ya, the clutches suck on those GTs. Replace it with a tougher one.
