Exhaust idea

Post by McVibe »

Okay so I was thinking what I could do with the Vibe's exhaust. Some ideas came to mind and I could use some opinions.1. Dual exhaust (left and right)2. Dual exhaust (Both in center as seen on mini cooper S)3. Dual exhaust (Coming out on sides before rear wheel)4. Dual exhaust (vertical in center as seen on Vauxhall VX220)So far #4 is my favourite.Just looking for opinions

i say either 1 or 3. 1 is the easiest, just use a flowmaster 80 series and have a cutout put into the right side of the bumper. there would probably be clearance issues/difficulty mounting the muffler if you did #3.

I've always been a fan of center exit exhaust. I originally contemplated doing something similar, but soon gave up after seeing how much work and money would be involved.

I like to do things myself to avoid extra cost. I am not competent enough with body work to cut a center outlet as well as patching the stock outlet. I did not feel like spending exessive amounts of money at a body shop.

You would have to take out the resonator and put the muffler before the axle. Then bend some pipe to exit the center. Then you would have to do a cutout on the bumper. It's possible but it would have to be custom=expensive.

for the muffler you probably find a rounded one instead of the normal shaped one, and put it in the center channel.
