Check out the new body work!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Shadow-Vibe »

Not as good as it sounds. I was attempting to merge onto the interstate when some lady in a cavalier didn't stop behind me. Not sure what is going to happen yet other than she is paying for it. I hope they total it but if they do I think I'm trading it in because once wrecked it's never the same. Damn I loved this little car!!! Be on the look out for parts for sale.

Yeah luckily no one was hurt, but I think it's goning to be over $2K. The whole rear is crinkled the whole way to the roof. And the head light covers are yours if you want but the one side was blown off at a car wash and has a nice crack in it, but still works on the car.

Dont' get too excited dude, I don't see a total loss there. From what I can see, it's 3 panels: hatch, rear quarter, and rear fascia. If there is no structural damage (or if it is not significant), I can't see it being totaled. ESPECIALLY if the airbags didn't blow (which they obviously wouldn't have). Airbags are an almost guaranteed total.

Well guys I went and talked to the estimater at lunch, since they are 2 seconds down the road from my work. The damage comes to $5600.00 and I have to hear from the insurance company to find out but it sounds like it's good for rebuild. They had to find out where I got my roof covers since they have to remove them to fix the damage and if the break one they want to replace them. Hope they can still get them. I'm goning to take in my mid-wing and side skirts and have them estimated to install since they are repainting half the car anyway. Looks like I maybe keeping her afterwards.

Yeah I might keep them for a while yet, unless I get it back and don't like something then I will strip her down. The side skirts are from the street-graffiti kit, purchased them from Nopi for a really cheap price.

The estimator said it just missed the frame. Said she went right over top of it. I guess I'm kind of glad I'm lowered.

Well it's been almost 20 days since my accident and I drove past the garage today. My vibe has not moved since it's been there. I did happen to notice another vibe sitting across from it that had some serious front end damage. Wonder if this is my donor car? Well since it's been there I thought I might as well give them all my other body parts to see about getting them put on since they are repainting most of the car. But they still have yet to quote me on those parts. Looks like I'm also going to pick up the bumper that was on ebay last week.

I don't think you shouldn't have a "donor" car. You should be getting new parts. I know how you feel not having your car. I hated not having mine and mine was only in the shop for 11 days. What bumper are you getting? I'm guessing you got the one to match your skirts?

Yeah it's from the Street Graffitti kit, and a guy here in PA was listing the skirts and bumper, but I just need the bumper. I'm going to meet him half way and he's charging $120. A GREAT DEAL.

I don't want that front end. I don't like the 05-06 front end. I'm collecting body pieces from the fronts to try and make a custom front end. I want the look of the GTR or autcross vibe, but I want to keep away from the grills pushed the whole way to the front flush look. I like them sunkin in.

Well the insurance company says that my car is supposed to be ready tomorrow. I have not heard anything from the actual garage that I had it taken to. And they never quoted me on getting the extra body parts put on.

i know the feeling to that too..when i got into a fender bender, my rear bumper was finished and so were my lights, took them about 35 days to just get a bumper and repaint them..was pathetic, my second accident i actually took to my dealerships bodyshop..and they fixed it in 2 days for me
