Added a G6 to the family truckster line-up.

Post by Cougar Vibe »

This past weekend I picked up an '06 G6 as a replacement for my truck...28K w/3.5L and all options except moon roof for $12K; GM certified to boot (pretty much just means 5yr/100k warranty). The car seems fairly quick for a small family sedan and has tons of driver and passenger leg room. The trunk is ginormous too. All in all, I'm fairly happy about the car/value relationship. Sure offered a lot more than the $18 Accord VP I was looking at.

Hey Fish,Is there a VIN decoder out there for G6's? I want to check on some stuff (notably, side curtain airbags) but can't find any info...

You may want to check your A, B, or C pillar plastic trim pieces... Usually if there's an air bag around, you'll see "AIR BAG" or similar on the plugs that cover the screw holes on the trim.

How is the G6? I like the way it looks but I'm scared off by the fact that it shares so many components with the Malibu Maxx.

In 23,000 miles I haven't had any powertrain issues.
