what all have you guys done for aftermarket clutch/flywheel setups? I'm looking for something that can used for drag-racing and will support at least 225whp. However, I'd still like the clutch to be somewhat comfortable for daily driving.I know there are a lot of posts on this stuff already, but I want to hopefully get some more opinons and a little more input than what's currently out there.
Does anyone know anything about the Fidanza clutch? It seems like a quality product to me. I'm probably going with the Stage3.2 and lightweight flywheel. What do u guys think?http://www.fidanza.com/clutches.aspx
Gripforce makes good, inexpensive aftermarket clutches. I went with an RPS because...well, I don't know why , I guess because it was supposed to be the more streetable aftermarket clutch one could put in a celica/vibe/matrix. If I had to do it over, I'd have gone with Gripforce after reading all the praise over at http://www.newcelica.org and http://www.matrixowners.com.
yeah, that definately seems to be the most popular brand on mo.comwell, it took me quite a while to find anything on gripforce, but this is what I got.http://www.competitionclutch.c...sportI think I would probably go with the Stage 3. Unfortunately that one's $495. about $150 more than the Fidanza Argh, I don't know which to go with? the Fidanza seems perfect but no one has tried it, and I don't wanna be the first to experiment. lol
For 225 WHP, there's no way you'll need the 6-puck Stage 3.. Stage 2 or even Stage 1 should be fine:from http://www.gripforce.com/clutch.aspQuote »GRIPFORCE STAGE 1 CLUTCHGripforce Stage 1 Clutch Kit is for the daily driver. It consists of Heavy-Duty pressure plate with an organic disc. This clutch kit offers 15-20% increase in clamping force and 20-30% increase in torque capacity over stock. This is the perfect set up for any lightly modified vehicles.
