Today, i got Comcast cable internet. All i can say is WOW!!!!!! I had Earthlink, until they changer my dial up number to long distance. So, now no more waiting for sites to load. It rules.
Welcome. Some customer say that they have a problem sometimes with Comcast but I am in the Detroit East District and I haven't had any problem since I first got on in Dec.Comcast is definately the way to go.
Welcome to Broadband. I have heard some good and bad things about Comcast, but every provider has their problems at any point in time. My friend has Comcast with no problems.
fortunately, in SE michigan, we have a lot of competition between cable companies. Yes, I said competition and cable company in the same sentence. I had Comcast, but they started increasing their rates, and their Internet service was in the crapper. So, I switched to Wide Open West and haven't looked back. They monthly cable bill is half of what is used to be for Comcast.
Comcast is great. Unfortunately, I can't say I've had good luck with them so far. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and I think I've been able to use it for 2 days of that time. Can't really blame them though, I think it's a bad line. Let's hope they can fix it on Friday when they get out here. I will say one thing though, it's about the fastest connection I've ever had in my home.
Get wireless with your broadband. My brother had comcast for 2 years now and since that I moved Right across the st from his apt. we decided to get wireless and share the broadband access, instead of me paying $40.00 a month. Plus he can walk around in his apt with his laptop and be connected. Wireless is cool. Does Anybody else have wireless in there homes?

Here on L.I. we have only one choice for broadband, "Optimum Online". I signed up with them the first day they started the service, Three years later, I would never even think of going anywhere else.

Ahh, the wonders of an ancient telephone infrastructure. DSL is hopeless and cable rules the world! Seriously, I doubt I'm paying much more than others. I think I was just spoiled in Cincy getting my DSL for $42 a month.
$42 a month for DSL is more than I am paying for my Cable hook up.

quote:$42 a month for DSL is more than I am paying for my Cable hook up. OK, now I'm mad! My current cable is $55 a month and it's been down for most of the time I've had it so far! Doh! When it is working, the 1775K/256K transfer rates (according to DSLReports.com speed test) are nothing to sneeze at though. I guess since it's the only option I have unless I go with $70 a month satellite, I'm pretty happy with my choice.
I pay $39.99/month and can't remember the last time that the service was down.
