Got into an accident...

So....finally fixed the Taurus...I was feelin pretty good about everything right? Ha...about ONE mile away from my house on the way home from a LLOOOOONG day at work...Two cars in front of me, first car was an Odessy, second was a Liberty. We had a green light, but there was an ambulance going through the red light on the other street. The Odessy slammed on the brakes, the Liberty slammed on the brakes, both stopped but I couldn't stop my big heavy Taurus in time so I ploughed into the Liberty at about 35-40mph. Smashed my head into the steering wheel land my right hand slipped off and punched the dash leaving my knuckles all bloody.So I poke my head out the window and ask everyone if they are ok and I can't get my door open so i have to climb out. Some A-Hole as he's driving by yells out "If no one's hurt get the "F" off the road!" I was about to jump through his window and snap his neck...afterall, it just happened about 20 seconds before he drove by and yelled that. So I called the police, we went over to the side of the road because everyone else on the four lane road was making us nervous and driving like idiots.The cops came and my car was still running so we drove our cars to a parking lot via police escort. We got our case number and all that garbage and I was the one that got the ticket, which I was expecting because I was the one that was at the tail end. Fortunately the officer said he knows the judge and said normally the judge will reduce it to impeding traffic and I'll just have to pay the fine.Both of the other women involved were nice about it, no one lost their temper or even got mad so it was ok. Everyone was nice. The driver of the Odessy I gues just got her rear end fixed a few weeks ago and the driver of the Liberty was about to trade her Jeep in in two weeks.Anyways...I've been having some horrible luck in my life lately. Pretty depressed. I'm driving the Vibe to work and school now and it was freezing rain/snowing all day. I'm going to buy some POS tires to put on my stock rims and put those on until i get the Taurus fixed (only have PLPD on it) so that way i can drive it in the snow without screwing up the rims and also so that they don't get stolen at my work.Here are pics...The Taurus starts up and runs great. It idles normal. I drove it home from the accident and the alginment seems fine. From what I can see I'm gonna need a new hood, left quarter panel, grill, front bumper, hood latch, radiator, headlight. I haven't cut the hood open yet to see what needs to be fixed inside but like I said, it starts and runs great still so I don't think anything is really wrong with the engine aside frmo the radiator being bent in half.

You definitely did the right thing waiting after the accident. That guy telling you to just move needs to have his neck adjusted in the manner you proposed. You're lucky at that speed that it wasn't worse and at least it wasn't the Vibe. Hopefully the repairs aren't too bad.

Yeah I'm gonna go to the junk yard if and when it stops raining/snowing and start buying up all the body panels. Then I'm gonna have to cut off the hood and see whats goin on underneath.

hate to say it, but it may just be more cost effective to junk the taurus and start over.important thing is you are ok.

Glad you are ok, too bad about the Taurus, but I am sure you will either get it going again, or get something else. You always seem to get things done when they need to be done....On an off topic, seeing how dirty the Vibe and Taurus are... I DO NOT miss the salt on the roads. I miss Michigan, but that part I can live without.

Sorry to hear about your accident, Paul. Glad to hear you are OK, for the most part. The guy that told you to get off the road WAS an idiot!Some junkyard parts and the Taurus will be good as it was.

Yeah it could be worse...could have been the Vibe but I'm gonna go this weekend and get some crappy tires to put on my stock rims and I'm just gonna drive the Vibe until i fix the Taurus.
