We have a Garmin Quest on the dash of one of our Vibes and it sells for about $240 at Amazon. Gives voice directions and zooms in to show the intersection before every turn and automatically recalculates if you miss a turn or need to go a different way. It's also small enough to slip in your pocket so you can use it for finding your way while walking around - and to find your way back to where the Vibe is parked.Our other Vibe has an older (and even cheaper - $175) GPS V, but that one has a more limited memory, no color, and only beeps to warn of turns rather than having voice. Both come with the same detailed NavTeq maps used in the much more expensive built-in systems.In addition to use in the cars, I use these GPS units for hiking, bicycling, kayaking, and just walking around. It's also nice to see exactly where you are and speed/altitude while on plane trips (but you need a window seat for reception).

i liiiike!!! im working on a navigation system myself but ive got alot of other things that i wanna get first so im gonna have to wait a while

I actually only paid $785 for the used system on ebay. I ended up creating my own harness to bypass the factory amp (i used computer molex connectors). it took a few hours to crimp everything but only spent $10 on parts for that. I also had to buy bass blockers to allow me to use the tweeters, that was $7.00. altogether after everything was said and done I spent just over $800.00. It was alot of work, mainly because we bought a used unit...but it was all worth it in the end. Thanks to everyone for all your help, and all the posts on how to find the right wires. If anyone needs help, gimme a call.
