I hooked it up last night for my 05 Trix. Which has the 6 disc changer. You keep all your discs still, When turning the ipod on, you simply hit CD twice and CD1 appears on the dash. You have the 1'00-2'00 flashing back and forth because their unit tricks the stereo into thinking you have an outside cd changer hooked up.At first I had a lot of hiss and noise and clicks. I made a call to peripheral and they had me do one simple step. Cut the 3 green wires going into one pin connector. The PXHTY3 harness has this wire for the Gen 2 ipod2car so you can control ipod functions from the radio. So a snip and everything works great, sounds awesome and fits nicely in back. PIN 6 for the device should be flipped ON so that you get the volume boost and better sound. I will have tons of pics of this with a DIY on matrixowners.com. Let me know if you would be interested in one here as well.
Whelan! Please post your D.I.Y. of this. I was always told that having the 6 CD changer prevented you from utilizing an AUX input, seeing that the changer is already in the unit and using the built-in input. I have very limited experience with hooking up car stereo/splicing wires, but I do have the tools for it, and I am willing to do it. Scratch that, dying to do it, since my Sirius satellite sounds like I have pillows in front of my separates (hate FM modulators!).Pics, too, please! I have wanted to do this mod. for months, but thought I was out of luck. Thanks in advance!
I will post it soon when I get some time, most likely over the weekend. I have so much crap going on lately. Tomorrow I am changing my oil and switching back to my stock airbox. So figure Sunday it should be up hopefully.
