Second Life?

I just saw this somewhere, some kind of game almost like the Sims I guess where you literally make a new life? Odd, anyone ever play it, sounds kinda intersting?

I was gonna try it (I saw it on fox news), but after the registration, there was a DL that you had to do, and I wasn't about ready to waste that much time to play a game that would waste more time. But maybe I will break down and try it one of these days. It is free, but I guess if you pay so much, then you get so much of the fake money every month, and some more "privlages" or soemthing. I don't know, it seems like an overglorified online SIMS to me.

I've joined it for 3 days now. It's free, its a 30MB download, you connect and it is a bit quirky to get used to at first, some of the viewing angles are hard and when a lot of people are in one area, you get a lot of lag. All in all its odd. It's essentially a virtual chat room where you can see people at the same time. Lot's of oddball goth kinda people too. I guess if you want to pay money you get Linden dollars $L, then you can buy stuff which essentially is the point of the game.You can sit in chairs and earn money, but you most likely want a job which I have yet to be able to get because they don't make any sense. It's almost like walking through a convention of people selling crap. You can only "teleport" as they call it from one area to another so many times, the map takes awhile to load, when you get to a place, it may take a few moments for all the objects to load. Apparently these people have built actual islands, not sure how. You have to literally buy everything you want to do so for me its strange, I have wandered it a bit now and not sure how much longer I will be on there. Maybe I will try it, just to see. I still just haven't found the time to sit down and DL (yes that means download) and play it. I just feel it's a waste of life to sit and play... life.....

Well for me I would give it a 6/10. It's just not worth my while to play life. When I am sitting at home during the week watching TV I could see myself chillin and roaming around but that's about it.
