Great forum!My wife is looking at buying a 2007 Vibe so I'm scoping out a few ideas to help customize the car for her.I'll be de-installing an FM Modulator that she has in her current car (Neon) and re-installing it in her new car. The modulator is used to provide AUX audio inputs for playing an mp3 player through the FM radio - and since it connects right into the antenna circuit it works pretty well with decent audio quality.I understand that the Vibe may have a powered/amplified antenna - and if so, will I still be able to insert the modulator in the antenna RF lead? without causing any problems.From some (older) wiring diagrams for the Vibe I looked at it appears that there are 2 wires that connect the antenna to the radio - one apparently for the RF antenna signal and the other for the power lead for the amplifier.I presume the antenna lead only carries RF (and no DC) and can be switched through the FM modulator.Many thanks for any advice on this.Also - is the antenna connector the standard one usually used in N.A. cars?

i think you will be fine... as far as i know the antenna is standard issue plug in type in the back of the radio.If I'm wrong let me know!

The antenna input is standard GM not neccessarly industry antenna input standard. So you will need adapters unless your modulator already has GM type leads.I'm not aware of a powered/amped antenna setup on the vibe.I use the wired FM Modulator from Metra found at BestBuy. I really dont use my FM anymore so i did not connect the antenna back into the modulator.

i did it for my sirius radio, and it works great, the sound quality is awesome!

Great feedback - thanks Mike.I'm surprised how good a properly installed FM modulator can sound. In theroy it s/b only as good as the FM stereo radio, but in practice I've noticed that it does acutally sound better - I guess because there's a high signal level available for the radio and maybe because the pre-emphasis and equalization is better.Curious to know what modulator you used...
