snow and cai installation

Post by vibe04 »

I just got my AFE cai today and I can't wait to do the install! But, I'm not sure if I should wait a month until the weather gets better or say screw it and do the install this weekend. I live in the southwest suburbs of chicago and we are getting more snow in a few days and who knows how much more after that. My concern isn't the snow but the road salt. Also, what is the best way not to damage the maf?

Disconnect the battery first thing. Don't touch the fine wire in the MAF, hold it by the plastic only. If you have an oiled filter, don't over oil it. I've had a CAI for 4 winters now with no problem, go ahead and do it now.

thats what I wanted to hear! My filter is pre-oiled so I'm not going to oil it, thanks for the info.

I live in the western suburbs of Chicago. Have had my CAI for 3 years without any problems. Like Sunny said...go ahead and do it. You'll ove it.

you should be just fine. if we can run ours in the AK winters, i doubt yours would be any worse.
