How the mighty have fallen...

Post by ColonelPanic »

Ouch! http://www.autosite.com/conten.../1481Quote »For years, our editors have been noticing a general degradation of build and materials quality in Japanese cars, but we’ve always written such observations off as oddities given the exceptional attention to detail these brands have historically exhibited. With our test sample, a 2007 Toyota Camry XLE V6 with less than 3,000 miles on the odometer, it’s time for us to stop making excuses. This test sample, more than any in recent memory, served to underscore that the domestics have made great strides in build quality, while vaunted brands like Toyota are beginning to struggle. What the hell are you doing, Toyota? If they keep that crap up, all those "lesser" midsize cars are going to end up being the smarter choice. Poor Toyota, sure you're trying hard to get into that #1 slot but look at the price your customers have to pay for that...

Once upon a time the big three thought they could shovel anything they wanted to out the door and the public would buy it. Is Toyota falling into the same trap?

Wow, another Toyota with issues. If you read the MotorTrend long term vehicles, there have been many Toyota's with problems that were considered ok because they were fixed and it was "unusual". I believe they have had issues with the long-term Tacoma.
