I would like to know if there is a certain brand of windshield wipers that would be reccomended over othere brands. I am using a michilen brand right now and they seem to streak an awful lot.
I usually buy the cheapest blade I can find with metal strips in the refill (the plastic refills just dont contour to the glass like the metal ones). OEM blades seem to always work the best but the cost is higher. Also, buy blades with the most joints in them and make sure that they have vent holes to let the air flow through (this stops them from lifting off the glass at highway speeds).

I forgot to mention I also recommend either the new Bosch ICON blades or Trico InnoVision blades. They're "beam blades" which means there are no joints. The blade is attached directly to the wiper arm, so it hugs the windshield far better than traditional blades. Also keeps the arm closer to the car, reducing any lift from the wind while at high speeds.I switched to them before I traded in the Vibe, and my G6 comes with them standard. They work great.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
A couple of months back I bought the Trico curved pressure blade. So far it is the best replacement wiper blade I have ever bought. It adheres well to the glass and doesn't chatter or lift off like some other blades, especially in high winds. Also streaking is non-exsistent.

I change mine at least once/year, this seems to be the best way for me to always have chatter and streak free operation.

I'll add my recommendation for the beam-style blades too - best thing you could spend money on! Switched to them on the Vibe before it was traded in, and they were fantastic for all weather, and at speed.Just swapped the ones on the minivan over too - again, worth every penny! And we're talking 28" blades here on a Grand Caravan....

I've been using Silblades on both my Vibe and Saturn Relay without problems for about 1 year. I am kind of curious about the curved pressure blades but overall I'm happy with the Silblades. I recommend buying them through Amazon.com because that is where I found the best price.Mike

Both are the same style blade (beam blade) but cost significantly less. And as many of us have testified to, they do work well.

I put the Reflex blades on our Accord last year now they squeal horribly unless you soak with washer fluide.I picked up two Michelin Windshield Wiper Blades from Costco (Sam's Club) on sale for 10 each and they are working very well. Better than my OEM.Although, I like the idea of refils as opposed to throwing out so much plastic and rubber.
I purchased the Bosch Icons this week and so far they are amazing. I had a chance to test them today, traffic was very light on the way to work this afternoon, so I got up to around 80mph and hit the windshield with washer fluid. Everything cleared perfectly in one pass. If they last at least a year, it will be worth the money spent.
Hey all...Bought the Bosch Icons for my Mother's Aveo last Fall. They wipe fine going up but leave a soccerball sized wet patch on the way down. I don't think the windshield is inset there; have to assume the blade doesn't straighten out enough for the flatness of the windshield. The Icons work fine otherwise, just not the best when it's the going down part where it misses. Oh, and this is standing still as well as moving.Dave
Call me silly, but I am happy going to walmart every 4-5 months and getting the $3 blades that are there (I can't remember the brand, it's like "ecno" or something). They work ok for a few months, and this way I am spending $12 a year or so.But always remember.... you get what you pay for.
Hey silly,Yeah, I do that too. But I thought, when I had a chance to do some work on it, that it would be nice to put something supposedly better on my mother's vehicle. The Icons work fine except for that 8" diameter patch they miss on the way down. Dave
I got the 2 Bosch Icons for the Vibe windshield at AutoZone with a rebate deal that brought the price down to under $20. No Icons that fit the rear.Later - got Bosch Icons for the T&C Van - 2 windshield and 1 rear - on sale at Advance Auto Parts at 25% off. Cost for all 3 incl. tax was $48. They even put them on for me.

I tried a set of beam style blades today. They were made by the folks that make Triple edge wipers. I took them back off the car in less than a mile and returned them to the store. Purchased them from Walmart. I'll have to wait until I see them on someones car where they actually don't let snow stick to the blade before I try them again. Also, they didn't clean the top and the bottom of the glass very well.

I needed to replace my blades and I looked for the Trico Innovision, but all I could find were Trico Exact Fit, which seem to be working great. The store didn't have the correct sizes for both sides of the Vibe in the Bosch Icons either.
