New Future Vibe owner here!

Post by Shad0wguy »

Hey everyone. My name is Chris. I am currently in the market for a new car and I have had my eye set on a Vibe since they were first released. The main reason I joined before I actually own a Vibe is to get opinions on the Vibe I am looking at before i buy it.I am looking at an '04 fusion orange Vibe. it has 36K miles with a moon roof and is $14K. I am going to talk them down to $12K otherwise I wont buy it. But the question is, is that a normal price for a car like that? But while I am at it, let me introduce myself. My name is Chris. I am 20 years old and I live in Long Island, NY. I currently own and drive a 99 Pontiac Grand Am which I am selling to my friend once I get a vibe. I also own a '86 Pontiac Fiero which is my project and is currently in the process getting back to driving shape. I seem to like Pontiac's above any other brand. Also, does anyone here know how many '04 Vibes were made in fusion orange? So I know what the odds are of finding them.Anyway, I look forward to a lot of useful info once I get my Vibe.

Yeah, Blue wave is a NICE color! Only fusion orange beats it in my book.

I've seen very few Fusion 04s, so getting one might be difficult. I just bought an 04 Base with monotone paint and pinstripe, Moon-n-Tunes, Power pkg, ABS, AT, Side-airbags, Anti-theft alarm, tinted windows and alloys. All these were options and new it would have cost around $21k. I paid just under $13.5k with 36,500 miles. That's about 2k off per year, which is about right for my area. Mine was a one owner in very good shape. So, depending on condition and options their price sounds close. If you know all the options on the car you are looking at, then you can go to edmunds.com and it will figure what the current market value is for your area. If you get it for near that price or a bit less you got a deal. Note that selling price does not include any down payment or trade, or taxes, title, tag and transfer fees. Be sure to include those costs when figuring your final cost. Good luck Chris, and welcome to GenVibe.

Seems a little high to me. When I bought mine last summer i was looking at a Fusion '04 with 18k on it with roof and they wanted around $14,900 for it. I agree with your $12,000 price.Kelly blue book says $13590 in excellent condition and I gave it alloy wheels with the roof. I paid $14,600 for an '05 with 23K and they paid off my trade in full (No neg. equity for me!)

If they don't go down to $12K, I am just going to wait for another. I also think $14 is a bit much, as it doesn't have many options. It has monotone, moon and tunes, and power everything. No keyless entry, or alloy wheels.According to Edmunds, this particular Vibe is worth $13,511 at a dealer. I think i should be able to talk them down though.

Hi Chris, Welcome to Genvibe. I live north of you in the Albany area and there are lots of Vibes around here but I have not seen a Fusion Vibe yet. The most poplular color around here is Neptune, followed by Silver. Good Luck with getting your car for the price you want. Remember to post pics when you get it.

Welcome to the site, Chris! Fusion is an awesome color. $14k is a little high for a 04 so just take your time I hope you're able to find one you like.

Ok, well I found out that I can in no way afford this Vibe. My insurance will effectively double due to collision, as I am only 20.I am going to wait until June to try again since I will then be 21 and my insurance will lower.Maybe by then I will find exactly what I want for the right price. My dream vibe is an '04, fusion orange, with moon roof, roof spoiler, and alloy wheels. Thanks for all the input.
