While the Piranha did share a lot of marketing goals and general design cues with the Vibe, the Vibe did not really come to life from that concept. Most say that the Vibe was more likely influenced from the original Aztek concept (NOT the production version):

Either way I like the "Vibe" better. Something about it is just cooler. And there is alot more things you can do with a vibe than a Pirahna

Mkaresh, they should have built that concept Aztek. I am definately a fan of that one. Of course, I am a fan of the Aztek anyway.

I've been saying for years that if the Aztek had been introduced with the body color cladding they changed to in the second year, and if the 17" wheels had been standard, it would have avoided all the criticism and sold okay.With the five-spoke 17s and body-color cladding the production Aztek looks pretty good, at least to me. But by the time it was available that way the general population had already decided it was hideous.
