Anyone here ever refinish their own?Anyone pay to have it done?What did it cost you if I can ask?

Haven't done it myself YET... this summer DIY plan.Got pricing to have it refinished by two different companys. 4-7grand. for a living room about 10'x15'.HD or LOWES is your friend they rent all you need to do the job and will even sell you a book on how to do it if you still are unsure

I tried to pay someone, could not get anyone to do it. I was afraid of the orbital sanders. Figured I would burn the floor. Found a square one at Lowes and I did our's myself. They came out nice. Glad I did it.

I refinished mine in the summer.Makes quite a mess.I think it cost me $100 for the varathane,$75 for the sealer and $150 to rent machine.I would recommend the 220 volt drum machine otherwise you will be sanding forever,if there's wax on your floor.It's a lot of work,so be prepared.But the end result is wicked.

IMHO, avoid the big orange box (AKA home depot). They're eeeeeeeeeeeeevil.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
