I am NOT a "blinglights" (eBay) customer!

Post by Psychobroker »

Ok guys & gals, I want you all to know that my Vibe is being used in eBay auctions by Blinglights when I have NEVER used their lights before. At one point, I *thought* I had purchased from them, so I demanded that they use "courtesy of Psychobroker" when I caught them. However, I looked into it and realized the lights I DID buy were from a different seller. So, I've given "blinglights" a cease and desist order. In any event, I just wanted to let you know that I do not, nor have I ever, purchased a product from Blinglights, so I will NEVER attest to their quality. Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1As I see it, they're infringing upon my copyright-protected intellectual property. I wonder how much money they've made in these auctions? Hmm..Thanks to keithvibe for catching this for me .

Have you tried contacting eBay? That's what I would do. Especially since you can produce the original photo and can prove you are not a customer.

Son of suck! A quick google of the terms "blinglights" and "stole" (or "steal") revealed we ain't alone! If so, stay away from BlingLights, they steal pics off the internet of cars that don't have their product installed." heh (vforvibe, i see your old signature with the creepy person is there, I hope that's really you and not another case of image theft! ) EDIT: And more! I have emailed him and Ebay again informing them of this scam. It gets me so sick to see people like this trying to rip people off.I briefly checked Ebay and his site and could not find my picture, so I hope he has removed it. As for Psychobroker please please please email or call Ebay and inform them as well. Blinglights

I would also inform them of the incidents CP posted above and let them know that this is NOT an isolated incident...it seems everything they sell is being sold with a photo that is not of what they are selling. That's false advertising.I wish eBay was still like it used to be where you could leave someone feedback without being involved in a transaction with them.

I will seriously consider this, as I can likely call on an attorney clients that specialized in IP infringement for advice. EDIT: Toned down my anger a bit lol

Ok, so here's my recent email to "Jay" at BlingLights:Quote »NO, i want my photos REMOVED from your auctions and website ENTIRELY. I have never purchased a set of lights from you, nor will I ever. I cannot attest to their quality, and am SICK and TIRED of people asking me about them.In my opinion, this is a clear example of copyright infringement on your company's part. I wonder how much money my photos have helped your company make? Have I been payed any royalties for this? No. I'm sure an attorney would agree that I have a case. This is a cease and desist order, so stop using my pictures immediately . I will continue to monitor your auctions and website. I will not ask again. Thank you.Regards,Christianwhich was in response to: Quote »Christian,I told the programmer and he changed the photos so please just refresh your cookies and check again. If you find any other photos that are yours let me know. thank you-JasonAs of 30 minutes ago, they have removed it from both their website and eBay auctions; replaced with a generic one: and the same one for their auctions: Sam, is this your photo: ?If so, refer to my emails when you demand they cease and desist, or WE will organize a class action copyright infrignement suit against them. Lord knows we'd have a case.

As soon as they realize you're trying to help THEM nail somebody's (removed) to the wall, i bet they'll get back to you right quick.

The only time you can do that is if you change the image so much that it no longer looks like the original image.
