The stripe on the passenger side is very common on alot of cars. My old Pontiac had them around every non-moveable window. The thing that makes the Vibe different is that there is no-stripe on the driver side. This was done because the light sensor is on that side of the dash and the dot-stripe would cause more shadows over it.
