new, again!

Post by mistertwo »

soo i posted here while ago, got my vibe, they dealer traded me the wrong one.. so instead of giving me a different one, they had all the things missing installed, and i am still working out things with my windows.. ugh.. but other than that i love my vibe! i have owned it for about 9 days.. my cosmo intake will be here in a few days, then after thats in i will be getting a dc header and either a magnaflow catback, or vibrant axelback.. maybe the hayame.. anyone ever hear the hayame exhaust on a vibe? i dont want my car to sound like a weed whacker. not real positive yet. once sumnmer hits i will be looking for some 17" wheels, pref gunmetal with a polished lip. following that will be either unorthodox or aem pulleys. oh oh oh, but i really would like to do a 4 wheel disk conversion, there are drums in the back, and i dun like them.. any input is greatly appreciated. i caught the "mod" bug pretty bad. i have been checking out neverenoughauto and cosmo racing and ebay for parts..anybody know of anywhere else?oranybody know any other good mods i can do?i was thinking of maybe lowering it a little, but not too much.. snow in buffalo is usually really bad for lowered cars.do they make a short throw shifter? i couldnt find anything

Welcome... again TWM makes a shifter, there's another but I can't think what it is.Tien S-techs are the cheapest springs but also give the greatest drop (~2")Hotchiks and Progress make springs that aren't quite as drastic.Sounds like you're off to a great start! Post some pics if you got 'em BTW the general consensus around here is the rear-disc conversion doesn't really add a whole lot, performance wise, for the money/work you have to put into it. But it can be done. Use the search feature and something should come up.

Welcome! I am partial to Tein S-Techs. 2.5" drop. More dramatic IMO I live in Michigan and I was able to plough the snow just fine with that drop. With the stock 16s I had last winter too, the car was lower than it is now with the 18s.My friend Tony and I are constanly complaining about how my Vibe looks with the drums in teh back, especially now that they are so open because of the rims. I really want to buy a set of disk brakes off a GT from a junk yard or something and hook those bad boys up to my base. Then get some nice cross drilled rotors.
