changed out cd player with factory replacement but still no sound

Post by vanman1 »

Hello: This is "Clueless in Cajun Country" My cd player in my '03 Vibe had no sound, so I replaced it with a factory unit from an '04. When I turned it on, still no sound. Someone told me check the amp fuse under the hood near the firewall. I did. It looked good, but I put a new on in just in case. Is there another fuse for the amp, or an inline re-set switch? Any help appreciated. Dave

Check the GAUGE fuse under the dash.No inline reset.

need help with sound system in '03

Post by vanman1 »

My cd player in my '03 died. I put in a factory replacement. It lights up, shows all functions, but no sound.I checked the amp fuse by the firewall under the hood. It was good, but i changed it anyway to be sure. The sound did play for about 30 minutes and went off again. I know the gauge fuse runs the radio, bit it seems to be good. Any hints, ideas? Can the amp be fried like the radio was? Do I need to have the new radio programed by my vin number?? HELP!! I love my Vibe!! Thanks to all, God bless. Dave
