If said "kill" occurred at an authorized venue for racing, sure - but put it in the racing forum. Otherwise, no.

I'm sure you wouldn't get any complaints here if the decision was made to take the bragging of your law breaking shenanagains elsewhere.

Belive it or not, there are people who don't care to hear about "kills" or the like. I use the road to get from point A to point B at the posted speed limit - not to race and put my life, the people in my car's lives, the people in the other car's lives and anyone else who may be on or near the road at risk. Personally, I see enough of this garbage on the roadway just trying to get where I need to go that once I finally get away from that madness, I sure don't want to have to see people bragging about it. JMHO and all you racers can hate me and flame me if you want, but I find this site to be FAR nicer to hang out at now that all that stuff is no longer present. Do it legally then by all means, come here and brag about it! So that way we know you all were safe.

I don't think of the site as being barneyized, but it does seem like peole act more maturely here than a lot of other car forums. Some like that, some don't.The removal of street racing stories was debated. I think there were two main reasons. One was the legal issue, a site promoting illegal street racing could be subject to liability, and the corporation that provides us genvibe looks poorly on that. Some people can actually street race in a semi responsible manner, unfortunately some people who street race shouldn't even be driving in the first place. In today's litigation crazed society, I can see some parent suing becasue their little child wrapped the car around a utility pole after getting all hyped up reading about the glory of street racing on a forum. The other reason was that someone would post a kill story, and then there'd be a bunch of little kid ricer boys who just recently stopped watching Barney and now think that the "Fast and Furious" movies depict the ideal lifestyle who would get all teary eyed because their brand or model of car was depicted as being less than perfect, so they'd join and post that we are all full of crap and are cars suck and we're all liars, and I think the mods just got tired of it all. It's an unfortunate thing, actually, since having a fast car, or good driving skills is a lot of fun, and can make for good stories to share with friends. I have done my share of law breaking on the roads, and sometimes continue to do so, but I can live without bragging about it, and since my Vibe is stock, there's not much I can hope to beat out there on the roads.-=-=-=-=-Brad, if you post the story somewhere else, IM me a link

I agree with you to an extent, but I feel on open road, late at night and another willing party beside you with plenty of room is my own and his own business. A short little stint up to 3rd gear is just enough to have fun. This doesn't mean I'm a "racer". This very rarely takes place with me. But you won't know the rest of the story because it can't be said which I totally respect.I'm done with this thread. Didn't mean to start something. But I can atleast defend my own actions.

Some people just won't ever be happy. All the race threads ever did was start fights. All the fights ever did was make people mad. This site is not for sharing your street racing stories or for those who can't speak/type without 70% or more having to be profanity. It's about sharing your love for the car we share in common and getting help with any problems in a way that everyone can enjoy. If you really want to share the conquests of your performance mods, feel free to post your track times. In fact, please do. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we'd love to know what these cars are capable of. As a group, the administration decided the elevated blood pressure was not worth the few people who would think the site had become too "Barneyized". Of course the last I looked none of us are purple and the time I EVER thought about singing "I love you, you love me" I immediately shut my own foot in the door to change my mind. I've told a few people lately that if you have a problem with the decision that was made you can contact one of us via PM. It was open for comment when the decision was made it's not open for discussion any longer. Case closed and thread locked!
