I'm replacing my struts (w/KYB-GR2) being they are worn and figured it is a good time to buy lowering springs. I'm trying to figure out if the Tein S Tech springs with just over 2 inches of drop is to much for the KYB-GR2's that I'm installing. Also, not 100% sure Tein is the right way. Any input would be appreciated.
I know that KYB recommends no more than a 1-1/2" drop with their shocks. However, our existing shocks are basically the KYB's and people are dropping their Vibes to 2+" all the time. So it would mainly be a matter of what ride quality and ride performance you are looking for. The S-Tech's should be fine. If you want to stay at a drop of 1-1/2" or less then go with the Eibach Pro-Kit, Tein H-Tech or Hotchkis lowering springs.
