GM has finally released fully revealing images of the 2008 Malibu:More Photos & Source: http://www.autoblog.com/photos...bu-1/[/quote]My thoughts.GM -- the teaser shots gave me hope. The real shots give me indigestion. They give us amazing original design like the G6, AURA, SKY, and Solstice. And then we get THIS load of crap? The back end has been done!A very, VERY disappointing unveiling.I can only hope the 2008 CTS and 2008 G6 make this load look the worst of the bunch...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
I like it. I think it's the best looking Malibu yet.

I think it's alot better than the last body style. The 2007 style looks like the trunk was sawed off. It may not be perfect, but it's heading in the right direction.
I can't wait for the Drunkenmaxx version to be released with that sweet dual exhaust.

as with anything new, it's hard to do something completely original without being too extreme. I think it's an improvment over the current model but it also looks like it could be an impala to me
I guess that's the new theme that Chevy is going with, similar to all Pontiacs having the split grill and all Dodges having that but-ugly cross bar in all of there grills. Sorry, not a Dodge fan.

That would require being bold, daring, and innovative. I'm surprised GM took a shot with the Solstice. You would think the success of that car would motivate them to take more chances. Then again, they could give us another Aztec.

fronts ugly... should have stretched the bottom outward more for a agressive look, not a GRANNY DRIVER look. (sorry grannies)GM has amazing desings, they just dont do it cuz they are more towards the older crowd... and tease us with SS's or GTP's and make them look 180 degrees of what they plan! For GM

That new Camry front end is horrible to me, but it doesn't seem to be keeping people from buying them. I guess that's why the 'bu looks as such, GM thinking "well, people line up to buy those ugly things even without incentives or whatever, so they'll buy this!" If the front were, well, not that front it wouldn't be too terribly bad. Were they trying to make it look like a Camry or a Chevy truck? I don't like the rear, perhaps if the lights on the trunk were taken off and backup lights moved to the tail lights, it would be better...The overall interior design looks OK, probably the best looking part of the car but I would probably feel closed in thanks to the swooping dash and high center console. The black interior looks the best, ahem, may I say the one without the woodgrain. GM: Woodgrain doesn't look good with BLACK! Use some sort of metallic stuff instead man! The 2-tone interiors are kinda yucky, especially that poop brown color - what the? Same thing bugs the crap out of me (pun intended I guess) on that new Aura. In all interiors, I hope this is just their poor attempts at image trickery, but is that carpet or cheap plastic covering the floor? It looks horrible in every color, in every picutre. Please let that be carpet as I doubt people will be hauling around their 100 pound dogs in this thing and would need a vinyl/plastic floor covering. At least the window switches light up. lol!I like the current Malibu a bit more now.

I agree, it's a cheap ripoff imitation of the Camry, especially from the front and sides.I can remember way back in 2003 when Chevy was still an INNOVATOR of design (Cobalt, current generation Impala), not a copycat of someone else. Looks like Toyota IS FIRMLY on track to be #1 worldwide in sales sooner than I thought.
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
The side reminds me of the new charger..or an Audi

I had a '98 LS, man did that car ever blow... I'm STILL paying for that piece of crap to this day. Killer resale value on those and even better reliability! This upcoming Malibu sure is a gem compared to the Malibu I had. I'd pick the Aura over this car though.
