Hisssss

Post by jkm311 »

I'm getting the dreaded hiss sound from my '06 6 CD changer Monsoon system. I have already tried different EQ settings - but to no avail. Help!

Please give more information. When do you hear it? Always? Only at certain volume levels? Does it become less noticeable as the volume goes louder?Every audio system has SOME degree of hiss, it's the nature of the beast...

When do you hear it? Always? >>Yes.Does it become less noticeable as the volume goes louder?>>It gets drowned out when I turn the volume up, but that's after I CRANK it, so it is still there constantly, but the hiss ITSELF does not seem to increase in volume.Every audio system has SOME degree of hiss, it's the nature of the beast...>>For a brand new system, I KNOW this is too much hiss. It's as if I am listening to cassettes, at best.

Without hearing it I can't tell you for sure, but it does sound normal.

If it was me, I'd try to find another vibe with the same sound system and see if it has the same amount of hiss. Does the volume of the hiss ever change, even when you have the volume turned all the way down?Does it hiss only when playing CDs, or also when you find a loud and clear FM station?Does that system have the external amp?If no solution occurs until next summer, then be sure to attend the big Michigan MegaMeet, not sure when it will be, but there should be a lot of fellow vibers there to check it out.

I'll have to test it out fully: different volumes, different sources. I'll make some notes and post again. I didn't know if it was a common thing, so I thought I would put it out there, and I have NOT dug under my seat, but I am pretty sure that I have the extra amp. Thanks for the help so far, guys!
