Unichip, that is the question.

Post by WD0AFQ »

I have been rolling this over for a few days now. 500.00 will buy one of these for my wife's GT. She won't know it is there. Now, I can already smoke the tires thru low and into second. Will this 500 dollar add on be worth it to me? I am thinking not. She is usally in the car when I am driving so I can't be smoking her new 225x45's anyway. That fun is for me and the grandsons only. Will the chip allow the tires to continue smoking on into 3rd? I kinda doubt it. The Hyperchip programmers were only 300.00 and I could fine tune them myself on my pick up trucks. I got my money's worth with them. I must admit that it is hard for me to keep my hand on my wallet but I think I should pass. Maybe they will drop to 300.00 someday. This GT is just pretty impressive for a 4 cylendar 4 door. Especially once I got used to letting it rev up in the 6 and 7,000 range. I am used to v-8 engines and holding them under 6200. Just the thoughts of a 52 year old grandpa who happens to be married to a hot chick with a fine ride.

i had my unichip on my 03 VGT. it was great. she may notice a little difference, but probably not. it's about 15 min install, plug and play. well worth the money imo.
