I need info on shipping out some parts out of Canada or should I say someone need info. I'm trying to get some part's from a member here on GVC, but having trouble on getting them shipped without paying more than the part's themself's... nuvibe
The only way is to ship via canada post-usps,then you don't have to pay any duties. If you use ups, fedex or any other courier you will incure charges or duties.

Thank's for the reply "Kevera" Is there a broker involved in this process? They say you have to use one for UPS, FED-X or any other sevice company, True or not?... nuvibe
If you use the postal route then "no".But if you use the major "ups or "fedex the expect to be hit with duties and brokerage fees. They are quite expensive. Are you shipping something big or medium packages.

The borkerage fees and duties are calculated on the value of the parcel. I do not know for Canada to US process, but for USA to Canada, if it pass through USPS and Canada post, you only have to pay the taxes on the parcel. If you pass through UPS or something simillar, you have to pay taxes, duties and brokerage fees. If the value is under 20$, there's is no chage at all (no taxes nor duty). So if you ask the sender to ship you the parcel as a gift and (to make sure) with a very low value, you will not pay anything else then the price of the part.
Quote, originally posted by kevera »Ya,it's best to ship as gift so you won't have to worry about paying anything, but it depends on what your shipping,ie,size weight etc.Bah... don't worry about the size... I go a set of new coil springs for my Vibe and it been shipped as a gift, with a 10$ value and I did not pay anything.
Well,it would if you were shipping, let's say a hood or exhaust system etc.,it's big and is heavy.Springs are a medium sized box,no worries there. But your right about the low value and gift part.

that's gonna be tough to ship from canada. i still have a lower front bumper fascia sitting at the in laws in London, ONT. can't ship it because it's too big. would cost me $900 alone just because of the size. it's too big to send parcel post, so i'd have to ship it via fedex, ups, dhl, etc. and to mail TO the US, i don't recall ever having to pay anything for fees. however, that may be different if using a shipping or courier service.
You can try stating that it is a part under replacement or warranty. That is how I usually try to get large pieces from the US. I ask the seller to write that they are "warranty" or "repaired" items. It has been 50-50 so lol good luck!I agree with Sub, maybe you can also try the "commercial sample" one.
