Like many other posters, I want an adapter that not only works, but is an easy install. I don't mind putting in a Saturday afternoon's time to do this, but I just don't want to pay someone to hook up 4 wires and charge me a bunch in the process. Has anybody SUCCESSFULLY attempted using the P.I.E. GM12-AUXv2 or any other auxiliary with the 2006 6 DISC Monsoon head unit? Also - has anyone else, with the same radio, experienced a LOT of static when playing CDs in the unit? I am listening to new release CDs and there is a LOT of static underneath the music, especially when one track ends and another begins, so I know it is not the recorded tracks/CDs themselves. I may be looking at replacing the H.U. if this is a double-whammy against me.
Unfortunately, there isn't an adapter that can be used with the 6CD. I tried the Peripheral AUX2CAR on one and no-go. The reason is this: There are two external inputs on the basic stock radio: One for XM and one for a remote CD changer. On the 6CD, the internal CD changer is connected as the remote changer, so it's not available, and 6CD units aren't "XM ready" (i.e. they have an "AM/FM" button as opposed to a "BAND" button.)Never noticed the static problem, though.
