The question I have is the AUX button on the radio, is that for the factory XM feature? I am about to add my own satellite radio and was wondering if the factory stereo has an external inputs? If not no big deal, I was just trying to cover my bases before I start this project.ThanksJim
I think that you can hook up a xm terk unit and use the aux button to play the xm right through the factory stereo. These head units do have the capability to display moving text.

Vehicles with factory XM use the band button to switch in and out of it. The sequence is as follows: FM1 > FM2 > AM > XM1 > XM2The aux button has no feature in terms of factory or aftermarket options. People have been able to "hack" the radio however to make the button functional.

Thanks for the info guys! I have an 06 moons and tunes package 6 disc HU.I live in the middle of nothing, so the ant port will work for me.Thanks again, you guys are a great help!Jim
This is my first post but maybe this will help. I just installed a sirius plug and play satellite radio. I installed an auxiliary module which gave me audio rca inputs to run my unit thru me stock stereo. I was disgusted with the fm modulator so i did this and the unit sounds great. The recptionis clear with no static. If this is what you are looking for i can explain what i did.
Let me know what you did for your install. I have the Monsoon 6CD changer and desperately want to run some RCAs to my plug and play Sirius. The FM modulator works, but does not sound as good as I would like, of course. Thanks for your help.
I installed a GM12-AUX module which gave me a set of rca inputs for my Sirius radio. I have the moon and tunes with single CD. You need the band button and/or cd/aux button for it to work. This part plugs into the 12 pin connector on the rear of the radio. You have to run 12V to the unit so i tapped off of the 24 pin connector hot wire and grounded the unit directly to the frame behind the stock radio. i did forget to change a jumper so i have to use my band button to play my aux jacks. I don't feel like taking the dash apart again; don't want to chance any problems. It works great. Hope this helps.
So, here are my further questions on your install: First, have you had any issues with the functionality of the radio after installing? Meaning - can you still use FM/AM, seeing that you left your jumper installed to that button. Also, is this possible with the 6 CD changer? I don't see why not, seeing that the install sounds simple enough, but the changer seems to be bad news vs. the single CD when hard-wiring. Second, where did you run the RCAs? I was thinking about attempting the pull out storage under the shifter, or the glovebox - basically, trying to hide any device I use. Good stuff, thanks!Anyone else out there have success with this adapter and the 6 CD changer?
My band button cycles fm1/fm2/am/aux 1/aux2 and all presets work. My cd/aux button works as before. No problems going from cd to band and back again. I don't know if there will be a problem with the 6cd changer, but i don't think so if you cycle with the band button. The PIE literature says the GM12-AUX will not work with my setup but it did. From my reserach it seems that if you have the band and cd/aux buttons and a 12 pin connector it works. I just ran the rca wire from the aux device down behind the shifter and along the middle console. I mounted my radio to the console tray so the cables only run exposed 6 inches or so. I will dress them up with a black cover but it looks good for me. Next for me is to hard wire the radio 12v power.
