AUX Device - Looking to get one Local / Does this work?

Post by Johnny5 »

I found one at Circuit City that I think may work based on the sticky above. http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd...o.y=5The thing that made me wonder is that Crutchfield (online) said it wouldn't work with my base Vibe with no Monsoon kit.Anyone use this? It has two connections which would be great, one for XM and one for MP3. I already ordered other stuff for the XM insall and want to get this whenever that comes in.

If the image on this page: http://www.audiooutfitter.com/....htmlis correct, then it should work on any Vibe withOUT the Nav system that has the 'band' button on it. I assume. Can't tell you for sure, but if you get it from CC you should be able to return it if you have a problem!

You got me curious, as I've been looking at that item for a few weeks now. The version for Fords worked like a charm when I had my Ranger.I just picked one up on my lunch hour; haven't had an opportunity to tear into the dash, but if memory serves me correct the 12-pin connector on the USA-Spec's harness may be different than the one on the back of the head unit.I'll try to work on it tonight and update you with what I find.

Well, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I was wrong...the connectors fit PERFECTLY into the back of my 2005's single-CD head unit (with Monsoon, but my understanding is that it's the same as without M&T).The bad news is that NOTHING happens when I press the CD/AUX or BAND button. Then again, I'm the guy who couldn't get the Sirius SIR-GM1 to work for more than 10 seconds, so maybe I'm cursed when it comes to the Vibe's electronics. Funny...never seemed to have this problem with any of the other cars I've owned.Think I'll try PIE's AUX2CAR next, if I can find a place that will take it if it doens't work.

I just want it to connect with no issues and be clear... if the quality is bad then I may as well stick with the FM modulator in the RoadyXT unit. So far it sounds pretty good (considering it is going through the stock Vibe system). I was also wanting to set it up so I could just plug into a jack to get an MP3 player etc. so the two channel thing sounded cool.

The bad news is that NOTHING happens when I press the CD/AUX or BAND button. How'd you end up working this out? I got a 2006 AWD with S&S and the CD/MP3 (kind of hoped that meant it had a jack) on year-end. Gave up my roady2 on my trade-in, so I'm planning on getting an inno now. I'm just wondering about how i'm going to get it all wired up. I wish they had an xm ready...but it was the only AWD available for hundreds of miles. This place looks like a great resource.

I have a 2005 vibe with M&T. I just installed satellite radio thru my radio. I installed a GM12-AUX module from Crutchfield. They said it would not work with my set-up but i thought it would. It works great, i did foget to change the jumper sertting but i press the band button and it pulls in the auxilairy perectly. As long as the base radio connector is 12 pin and you have the band buton and cd/aux button I beleive it will work. Much better than and any other connection.
