Spell Check

Post by djb383 »

Has something happened to spell check. It seems really slow, or is it just me (don't answer that). Thanks.

I never even realized there was a spell check, that would ahve been handy. However I tried to use it, and you are right, that is slow. I gave up after about a minute.

I rarely use the Spell Check feature here but it was never that slow before. I'll report it to the sysadmin.

I believe Nick is referring to the folks over at ZeroForum. My understanding is while they don't own the servers GVC runs on, they have full access and they can go into the servers and do upgrades, repairs, etc.

Yeha I have noticed that it has been very slow or not working at all for a few weeks now. I have never had problems with it in Firefox until now. It is even running slow in Explorer.

new version of firefox has built in spell check for all text input boxes....try just using that feature and you won't need the spellcheck on here!Tools > Options > Advanced Tab > "Check spelling as I type"
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

I have the most recent update, but I don't see it anywhere. I have an extension for Firefox for spell checking called "riteoftongue", but it is average at best. You have to be extremely close to the word or else it has no clue what your typing and won't give you any suggestions to help.

Firefox ver. 2.0.0.1 ...it was included in Ver 2.0works very well...puts the little red dotted underline under a mis-spelled word ..you right click it and it gives you a list of possible correct words. just like in Microsoft word.

Normally you buy server hosting space and the ZeroForum license direct from RelyNet, but we (I should say, the BVerticals team, not me ) actually own the servers and installed and maintain ZF themselves.
