that is not the same style as AEMthe AEM bypass valve only opens when suction allows it too... then the filter is submerged the rubber flaps open and you have an airway without water.this is an in-line air filter. I think it will just suck air all the time making your intake have 2 filters... whats the point?Save your money and buy the AEM one if you really think you will need it. There is a perfect spot there though isn't there.I personally just stay the hell away from 2' deep standing water.... but I realize thats not as easy in some areas.

i think it's pretty funny that in that pic you can see the AEM style valve, but thats not what is for sale. See that grey rubber inside the chrome valve. When the filter is submerged the rubber folds back and the engine get its air. It's not filtered but it is better then water.

in regards to the 2 pieces i have no ideal why it came that way b/c i thought it was one piece also. but looking at it, it seems like it will be easier to install being in two pieces
Well it's installed and I'm loving it. You can't really notice any difference in sound until you get on the gas. Then it's a deep throaty sound. It took about 45 minutes to put on because the pictures in the instructions sucked. I was also missing a clamp so I will have to go get one of those later. 4x4chichi: I had to remove the big factory hose that connected to the factory airtube and replace it with the one provided because it wouldn't reach the new intake. It runs from the intake to a place underneath the plastic engine cover. If you still need a pic let me know and I'll try and get one for you.

alright... got the intake installed but the check engine light came on after about 30 minutes, went back disconnected the battery and checked everything, re-hooked up battery and check engine light still coming on. what could be the problem???????????????????
It's likely that some oil from the filter got sucked in and stuck to the MAF sensor. Spray it with some MAF sensor, carb, or brake cleaner. Mine did this also.
it really doesnt help b/c i dont have that many hoses it only tells me to connect the 15mm hose to the breather hose for the valve cover. u also have the cable throttle body and i have an electronic throttle body mine is a 06. i believe it is the maf sensor but im not sure. it is not dirty and the only thing i can think of is that i oiled the filter before installing and maybe the oil is getting on the maf. but the filter sat for a day.
you might also want to try to position the intake tube a little better in the throttle body coupler. in the 2nd pic, it looks like the hose clamp is positioned too far onto the hose "barb". move the clamp closer to the end of the coupler, so you don't have that open gap between the coupler and intake tube. you might get a vacuum leak, there.
well i cleaned the maf sensor and cleaned the filter to get the oil off and redo it. still getting the cel. i talked to a tech i know at firestone and he said that i probably messed up my maf sensor so i have decided to sell the intake so i can buy a new maf sensor
ok so i looked around and have found the differnce in vac lines, ignore the post above cause yours really is different.I found a pic on VforVibe's cardomainhttp://www.cardomain.com/membe...l.jpgis it like that?I think you put a breather filter on the white plugged hose but otherwise is it hooked up the same, cause I dont think she has a CEL

well right after i got it fixed i drove about 55 miles on the highway and a little on the main streets and the pick up is so much better and i love the deep throat sound
cosmo instructions say to cennect the new 15mm hose to the breather hose for the cover over the valves, but u dont need to do that. on the stock the breather hose is after the maf sensor and on the cosmo intake it is before, so if u hook up their hose your cel will go off b/c the maf is reading an abnormal air. so pretty much just put the intake in and hook up the maf sensor and thats just it, oh and cap the port on the intake
