Winter is such a wonderful time of year! :)

Full of new things: new house (bought 12/7), new garage (Phil's happy - now he gets to park in it!), new furniture (because the house looked pretty empty), and of course Christmas is coming! so we all know what that means?? yep! MODS!so, in my rationalle with the hubby, we have agreed that since he got his new PC, I would get to order my spiffy new Perrin Top Mount Intercooler (TMIC). Not only would that be any major gift for me come Christmas, but also for my birthday, 8 days later. I made the phone call to PDXTuning and they gave me a better offer. Rather than spend the money on just an intercooler, one of their techs just bought a brand new STI and is upgrading his turbo and what not. That meant he had the basics for an STI swap minus the STI TMIC. Needless to say, I jumped at the chance to not only take the LGT to the next level in stage 2, but go to stage 3 all together. Now, this has been an ongoing dilemma as to what to do with my car as it'll be coming up to 2 years in April (when I usually swap cars out). But I've promised Mav he gets his STI by June, so that means my car trade will have to wait. With doing a full swap, it seems that it will be even longer before I swap vehicles out because I'd have to take it back to stock in order to trade the car in. Eventually I want to do a true STI Legacy with the new Spec B 6 speed version, however, this will suffice my appetite to go faster. At the prodding and nudging of a fellow LGT'er who's done the swap already, he is now trying to figure out how to keep his faster than mine. He has a 5 speed while I have an auto, so I remind him his will always be faster due to the lack of top end in the auto tranny. *sigh* oh well... it's a big project to undertake, hopefully only a weekend. The plan is set for next month, Phil will get me a list of the schematics and parts so I can order any missing hoses or gaskets (new are always better than used for something like this), Ralph will help me with the swap itself and I'm sure there will be plenty of curious onlookers willing to stop by and check out what we're doing. We gotta get that 3rd garage some usage other than storage! LOLEven though it's an auto, I figure with the addition of Mav's STI just around the corner, I can always get my need for a 6 speed out of my system and swap cars for a day. I'm sure he won't mind being that the LegaSti will be a monster in itself (auto though). I will be using the same outfit that I'm currently running my stage 2 maps sd they have more experience with the auto LGT's and have done 2 or 3 swaps themselves. They make my car go even faster! :D My goal is to break into 12's in my auto without blowing up the tranny or killing the car. I think it can be done! Others have done it, so I believe I can too! but it may come in the fall since the cooler temps make huge power differences here. Keep in tune and I will post up the progress as we come along!

Nice catch with that upgrade!Could you get a shift kit for your car? I can tell you mine is so much faster with just the shift kit than before. It shifts almost instantly now. Way faster then I could ever do manually. And the tranny guy says it'll hold up to 500hp. I do need some tweeking here and there. But it's definatly worth the money.
