piston / rod questions

Post by OpSig61 »

2zzge - Eventually going to mod up to a snarlin' sleeper I do realize that a big step in this will be a lower compression piston / sleeve setup along with stronger rods. The real question is, will replacing the high compression pistons with lower compression pistons hinder / help the performance of the GT prior to the eventual turbo upgrade?

If the only thing that changes is the compression ratio, then a lower compression ratio will produce less performance.

You may not need to worry about the stock rods. Lotus has said that the stock internals were good to 300 hp and the tranny would go before that. Don't do the pistons until the turbo if at all. You'll really notice it. There are some out there with about 270 hp and stock pistons.
