I am seriously considering the Borla exhaust system for my Vibe GT. I know that there are a couple of members who have this already. I would like to see a pic of it installed if anyone has them. If you do, please post them here for all the members to see. Thanks!

I thought the members were saying that Borla was in the process of making an exhaust system for the Vibe, not that they already had one. For now, I'm going the cheaper route. My Flowmaster 60 Series should be here any day now! I just wanted mostly to change the exhaust pitch. Changing just the muffler won't have very much effect on HP unless it was a particularly restrictive design, in which case HP would be lost.

quote:I believe the exhaust end is more oval shaped. The Thermal R&D is round like the stock exhaust, looks much better. But price, is another factor. I didn't even see that it is an oval tip! I don't think that would look right. I thought it was a 4" round tip. The price for a Borla system is about $368 shipped from PTuning. The Thermal R & D is $473 shipped. There is a big price difference, but it may be worth it for a round tip. That's what I am really looking for. I just like the way my tip looks now. I have the polished tip from GM on there now.

quote:Triton, I hear Borla is a Great Exhaust, but one thing I do not like about it I believe the exhaust end is more oval shaped. The Thermal R&D is round like the stock exhaust, looks much better. But price, is another factor. The tip is not oval, it's round. It just looks oval because of the angle the picture was taken and because the tip is angled instead of flat.
That's what I though as well Scott. But under that picture on PTuning's website, it says Includes 4" oval tip. Here is what Borla's website says when you pull up the Vibe's system:Product DescriptionT-304 STAINLESS STEEL Product TypeCAT-BACK SYSTEM Tip Style(s) (legend)S OV RL AC Tip Exit(s) (legend)RI believe the OV under tip style stands for oval. And here is a sample pic they show: It looks slightly oval to me, but I really can't tell. I emailed Borla just a little while ago to see what they say. I will let you know.

It is an oval tip. Here's a link to another discussion of the Borla exhaust on MatrixVibe.net. Scroll down to the end and there are some pretty good pics of it installed on a Matrix.http://www.matrixvibe.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2300
It's oval because it's an angle cut. When you cut a round tube on an angle it creates an oval however the tube is still round. I'm fairly sure that Borla tip is round when looking at it straight on.

The cut out for the exhaust tip is a little different on the Matrix than the Vibe. I do like the way it looks with the Matrix. But I'm not sure about the Vibe. It seems like one that is round would look better on a Vibe.

There seems to be a difference in the rear fascias of rasermon's blue vibe and robdog's black one. Did anyone else notice that? Any insight about the difference between the two? Does the blue one have the sport package (extended fascias?)Thanks!

That picture that rasermon posted was of a Matrix with a Borla system installed in it. He linked the picture from a post on MatrixVibe.net of someone that had installed the system already. I hope this helps. Follow this link and take a look: http://www.matrixvibe.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2300

I used a spray paint by DuPont formulated for plastics. Any brand would work if it is made for this.
