Brake grinding only when wet

Post by pingber »

I have a 2005 vibe with about 45k miles on it ...since around 11k miles, EVERY time its really soaking wet out, the front brakes grind and are so rough that I feel that its like metal to metal and that the breakes don;t feel like they are grabbing well at all. After they dry out, everything is ok again. I've had it back to the shop twice, no problems found (of course) ...I suppose that this will go away when I do brakes/rotors, but I'd like to know if anyone else is experiencing this problem.I know that its NOT rust on the rotors

My G6 has similar issues...grinding noises, but it still stops fine.My theory is the wet brakes might confuse the ABS system...thus triggering ABS response when it isn't needed. No proof to back it up though. Simply a theory.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
