The Italian Mustang

Post by Atomb »

I've never really been a big fan of this car, but the one picture in this article and the description sound pretty appealing!http://wardsauto.com/ar/ford_italian_mustang/
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

i think most people would be happy with any of the three. i am just glad to see a trend back to rear wheel drive. i know i know our vibes/matrixs are fwd for the most part but i still prefer how a rwd handles at the limit i would rather be able to control the back end with the throttle and not have the car push. that said the new stangs are great cars ive drove a couple when i was helping a friend do repo work. they are leaps and bounds above the old fox body stangs in terms of handling ride and refinement so i would hope the next gen only gets better.

The styling is nothing like the next Camaro. It's tons more like the 6 series. which i have to say are very handsome. The next camaro will be just like before.. extremely long hooded. Look at the world's best sports cars. none are long hooded. The MB SLR is a poor example of a sport car. Like top gear called it. It's more of a Grand Tourer that sports car.

Those seats look they belong in a 1970's panel van with some Skynard playing on the 8-track.

Buy these Stangs while you can because if Ford can't figure out how to make cars that the rest of use will buy like the Prius, Camry, Civic, and Accords then Ford will be history. Personnaly I don't understand why Ford can't take their Hybrid powerplant and put them in their Focus and Escort lines and start making money again. Just mu .02 cents worth.

I've been a pretty strong Ford guy most of my life but this car has me troubled and still thinkin about it.So I'm going to ask another question of Ford. If your car company is loosing billions of dollars why would this car and the continuing R&D NOT be the first thing to go on the chopping block? Or do they think this car will be a profit center for Ford? I can't see this car making a dime for Ford, do you?

I heard on the news this morning that Ford got bumped to the #3 spot by Toyota in U.S. sales. GM is still hanging in at #1.GM might have finally turned it around. Their sales numbers are up. Ford's are still dropping. I've never been a Ford guy, but I hope they get their act together. I hate seeing any American company go under, ecpecially one that employs so many people. The only Ford product I've ever owned is my '56 600 tractor. Still going strong after all these years. All mechanical parts are still available through New Holland.

Nobody claims vettes have short hoodsand R&D = Research and DevelopmentI like the look of the 1st gen camaros, and the new concept is pretty close to that, but they suck for headroom

here's the funny thing...the only 2 fords i've ever had to 'deal' with are my wife's 2000 focus and my friend's 1998 expedition.both are performing generally better than my vibe!?the focus runs beautifully and has only required general upkeep maintenance (oil, etc.) and my friend's expedition is just approaching 500,000kms and going strong! (yup, half a million)so i'm puzzled when i hear people slag ford products.....maybe i'm lucky?

Very reliable cars.My only issue with Ford lately is their usability and/or cost. Why is the new Mustang a 4 seater? I have 3 kids. Would it have been so hard to put a bench seat in the back? I'd own one if it could seat 5. Why is the Escape a 5 seater only? The Rav4 has a 3rd row option. My wife would have an Escape if it seated 7. Why is the Freestyle $28,000?

I think that's Ford's problem. I think their quality if fine, I just think they're always off the mark trying to figure out what people want. Somehow they seem to get it right with their trucks.Personally, I've never cared for their styling. I rented a Focus and once. As long as I was on the inside, it was an okay car.

Actually th corvett really is among the best in the world, but it isn't very long hooded. it's on the short side, plus is a nice drop towards the bottom. this new camaro is a long hood kinda like the early 90's town car. i just don't like it.

I saw it at the l.a. auto show several weeks ago. It had a big crowd...more than any other car I saw. I thought the grill was interesting - galloping mustang holes.

The new Challenger will eat them all! The Camaro is quite sick, though. The Pony on the other hand....never happen. I keep seeing the dang V6's everywhere...my Hemi wants some V8 for lunch!
