volkswagen bug rims

Post by grass »

So my wife is set on getting some VW rims for the Vibe. They put them on the bugs.. too lazy to look on VW forum right now but I think they're just the "montee carlo" rims with inserts. I've done a little looking in the past and I'm pretty sure the bolt pattern is the same. But I think VW does some funky stuff so I'm still not too sure if it'll work.I was just playing around making a new signature to use here (with a photoshop job on the rims and a drop)Here's a larger image of the car with the rims on it.How do you think they look? Not that it would change her mind.. just want to see what other vibe owners think.Another good thing from the rims, being stock, would be a decent price and I would think easy to find, but again I'm too lazy to look right now.

because of the way VW rims bolt on with funky studs not nuts, I'm not sure it will work.Dont let me stop you though, the bolt pattern is the same, they are a good size and they look great.Good luck, I hope it works out for you (and your wife)thats 400 ty very much

I thought that one day IF I ever sold my Snap Orange Beetle, I would keep the 17" rims and put them on thee Vibe. Since the Vibe is my daily driver, I'm now using the 15" Steel Wheels with Snow Tires that I used on the New Beetle and I mounted them on the Vibe. I'm not too sure what the subtle differences are, but they seem to mount perfectly on the Vibe. AND the ride has improved going from the stock 16" wheels to the 15" wheels. With that said, I DO like the look it gives your Vibe. And IF you kept those rims on the Vibe, I would repaint the plastic inserts Salsa to match the paint on your car.Hmmm.....I'm afraid to ask what the New Beetle looks like w/o it's wheels.

Those are some sharp wheels... If they'll fit, paint 'em like was mentioned and maybe have Ryan over at grafxwerks set you up with Pontiac wheel center decals and you'll be set. Hopefully they'll work... If not, find some that look similar and buy you a set, those look great on the car.

Thanks. It was my wifes idea.. I also like the way they look. From what most people have said here and the VW forum it looks like they should just swap right over. Now to get the money.. and I have yet to find a used set to find pricing.. and didn't expect stock rims to cost more then custom.. but I could see that being true.Yeah the center cap would go right away. didn't really think it out but yeah paint it, maybe the same color as the rim and the idea about the logo overlay is sounds sweet.right now this is just an idea.. money first.thanks
