Hit a cat- Need a new front fascia!

Post by Pantera99GS »

Hey guys- I've got a 2003 Vibe GT and like I put in the title- I hit a cat at about 55mph when it ran right into me on a country road. Hopefully the thing died quickly.....It cracked the hell out of the fascia. Anyways- when I bought the car it had the psychovibe front fascia, which I wanted to get rid of anyways since I live in Wisconsin and don't feel like helping to plow the roads with my car . I was hoping that somebody could give me some advice on a cheap place to get just a stock fascia? The dealer is obviously going to be priciest, and I'm going to try and call junkyards. Anybody have any other suggestions? If I find a two tone front fascia- I"m assuming I can just get it painted to match my neptune blue? Thanks!!

What about insurance? Cheapest place I know of if a JY doesnt have them, is gmpartsdirect.com . There are two pieces, upper and lower. Both are around $250 from them.Or, you can try eBay.

I have a $1000 deductible on insurance- so it doesn't even pay to file a claim and have them raise my rates.I've been watching ebay too- thanks for the suggestion!

88973186 in the lower fascia for an '03 (GT, Base, AWD, painted or unpainted) Dealer list is $407.24 (again, this is a LARGE part, ordering from GMPD will probably negate ANY saving you get in freight charges; sorry to sound like a broken record, just like people to know that shipping oversized parts cost huge money these day; both UPS and FED-EX are hurting from high fuel costs and are charging OS charges on anything even close.)

Sadly, you're right. You may save about $15 getting it from GMPD, thats not a huge savings.

Thank you so much for the part number and price- I really appreciate that.Maybe I will just end going to the dealer then. I'm assuming this comes unpainted?

eek! well, if you were closer, i have a lower front fascia sitting at the in laws right now in London, Ontario Canada. It's Satellite (Silver) though. Excellent shape and I would GIVE it to you if you can go pick it up or pay for the shipping. it's expensive to ship since it's "international". I've had it for 2 or 3 years now, was going to replace my old busted front LOWER fascia, but then traded the car and haven't been able to figure out how to get it from there to Alaska without paying an arm and leg for shipping.
