Definitely an improvement over the current Malibu! For comparison, here is a 2004 Malibu interior:Now we'll all watch as the General does what they do best: baby the Chevy brand with these phenomenal upgrades and exclusive features and concepts, while they CONTINUE to neglect the rest of their brands.I'm so FED UP with never seeing any commercials but Chevy ads.You know they'll NEVER make a Pontiac look that good.

i will agree that the current interior is a bit bland, but that photo is a bit of trickery, for the record. everything is turned to black and white except for the seatbelt orange part, just to make it look worse. what you don't see is the wood grain and stuff like that. mine is actually a two tone interior as well.

if you think that is bland you should have seen my 98 Malibu LS (car the vibe replaced)talk about craptastic... bland and blander.they did have those engineers working overtime on my pull out drivers side cupholder 3 useless sizes coin holder. Other then that it was tan with cheesy plastic-wood and had seats that made the bleachers feel comfy.this thing looks beautiful compared to that... lovingly known as my Maliwhore.

You took the words right out my mouth. This is Autoextremist had to say about the Malibu interior. They posted the same picture. I like the idea of a RWD Impala. Chevrolet, GM. Chevrolet confirmed yesterday that the all-new 2008 Malibu will be unveiled in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit at Cobo Hall. Chevy also released a sneak peek of one of the car's available two-tone interiors (below). The new Malibu was one of the upcoming models that really impressed us when we saw it two summers ago at a special advanced preview of GM's future product portfolio. The front-wheel-drive, mid-size Malibu is part of Chevrolet's two-pronged strategy (along with the new full-size, rear-wheel-drive Impala) to get back into the market with mainstream "hit" products that deliver quality and value and that sell on their own merits - rather than becoming instant denizens of rental fleets across America. We think it has a real shot at redefining Chevrolet for a new generation of drivers. But then again, we'll see...

I agree with many that the color choices are, um...poor...but with the right colors, that interior is remarkable!Drunken: I'm actually pretty sure that picture is not "tweaked" to make things look worse then they were...but even if it was, anyone who's seen a current gen Malibu knows that it's not far from it...

well, i have a malibu and so think i would know. the stereo should be black, not a washed out dark grey. the chevy emblem on the steering wheel is a brass sort of color. the needles on the guages are redish orange, etc...i mean look how washed out everything looks, it's obviously been greyscaled.

I don't care what it looks like - I'll never buy a Malibu (and maybe even Chevy) again. We had a 98 for 6 years, and we were putting money into that thing constantly. Finally traded it in for the Vibe last spring. Damn thing broke down on the gal on her way to work, and I called it quits - we got it fixed (again) and traded it that night.
