How to Remove Stick-0n Stone Shield

Post by Four Ways »

The 3 little clear stick-on stone shields at the lower back of the rear doors on the plastic body side molding are starting to get dirty around the edges. I have seen this on other cars that this dirt will continue to propagate under the clear plastic and look worse than anything the shields are suppose to protect from happening. Does anyone else have this problem? I don't suspect you would notice it on a dark colored car. Has anyone taken them off? If so what did you do and how did it turn out? My fear is that I will booger up the body side molding when I remove them.

I had to replace one due to a mark, the dealer sells replacements. Heated it up with a blow dryer and then removed any adhesive left behind. Stuck the new one on and you would never tell!

Tried it as you said and it worked great. I thought my citrus adhesive dissolver would take off the little bit of adhesive that stayed on the car but to no avail. I just reheated and rubbed it off. Car looks clean now.
