Are Rattle Repairs Covered By the Warranty?

Post by Smitty »

I have a persistent rattle in my front passenger door and was thinking of taking it into the dealer. Is that something that will be covered by the warranty or will I have to pay for the labor of looking for the rattle? If I do have to pay does anyone know how much that might cost me? -- From my search of previous threads, it seems like this a common problem for the Vibe so I am hoping it won't be too dificult for the dealer to resolve.

Wow... that was a fast response Salsa... thanks! That's good news -- I haven't changed or modified anything yet so it should be covered.

Rattles should be covered under the factory warranty. I've had two different rattles that htey took care of as soon as I brought it their attention. So it shouldn't be any problem. The technicians get paid on warranty work too so they love to see cars in for little things like that.

That's really good news that they fixed your rattles. I have something rattling under the dash that is starting to drive me crazy. I also have a rattle in the passenger door around the speaker, like it needs to be tightened or something. Mine will be going in with the first oil change to have those looked at along with the squeaking clutch pedal.

I took my vibe in 2 times for a rattle in the passenger door and they told me both times that there isnt anything they could do. They told me my stereo was tuned that way and they couldnt fix that. NOTE: this rattle is with the stereo on or off, but more noticable with the stereo on. When the stereo is on and i turn the bass all the way down, it still rattles, and its really annoying. I almost want to return my vibe its so annoying. The 2 dealerships around my area are both horrible. They dont want to fix anythign, warrenty or not.

Get a second opinion from another dealer. I had that problem and they fixed it right on the spot. I also has one that came from the instrument cluster that they fixed then too.

Greetings... I just got my new black, Vibe GT, moons/tunes/power/side impact airbags on Tuesday 3/18. During my test drives I noticed a vibration/rattle in front passenger door. I asked the dealer to fix it but it is still there. I am taking it back at some point for fix, but can someone here just tell me what exactly was the problem in case they have trouble locating it or give me a hard time. Thank you in advance.

Just an update on the rattle in the front passenger door:The door panel is piece of cake to take off (philips near door lock and philips in inner door handle cup). Panel pulls off of door then upwards away from window and lastly backwards away from the tweeter speaker. My rattle was 3 screws holding a metal panel to the inner door frame.. tightened down and rattle free now.PS- there are 3 clips along both vertical edges of the door and two across the bottom. The top is held in place by the lip of the window molding
