wassap guys. long time no see.well, it's ben two years witht he vibe. so, i got that 2 yr itch i've gotten for the past 8 years. time for a new car. loli drove the CX-7 yesterday. WOW!! IT'S GOT SOME GO TO IT! it's bigger than the vibe but much faster. ilike the 6 speed auto/manual. Unlike the CL-type S i had before, this one WILL let you shift into 1st gear. Anyways.. i've got my eye on a grand touring model. It's 28K. which i can do, but those bastrds only wanna give me 10K for the vibe. I told them to kiss my behind, i'm going to another dealer! So that's where i'm going today. any comments?
11.7 K my vibe has only 22.3K miles on it. plus it's in great condition. ohh i forgot to mention. they first offered 9k plus they would throw in anotehr 1k. BUT then they would deduct 1k becsause it's not a auto. so really they offered 9k. i'm not taking that big a hit. If i can't get 11.5, fine. i won't sell. i don't NEED o get a new car.
sell it private you will always get more, but it takes longer sometimes.. so if you're not in any rush, sell it privately.and off topic- the cl will let you shift into 1st but you need to be going less then 5mph (i think)... why do you need to shift into first anyway, when you drive a standard first is only for taking off not really used for anything else. Second gear is low enough to work in 90% of the time while driving.

It's common for a 'new car' dealership to make as much if not more "pure profit" from the sale of a late model, low mile trade-in than from the sale of a new vehicle. Never discuss trade-in early in negotiations, just assume your not going to trade a vehicle in. Get the dealerships best/lowest cash price offer, in writing, on the new vehicle first, then bring the trade-in into the discussion. As already mentioned, you will get more for your vehicle selling it yourself and, to me, the extra $1500-$2000 you will get is well worth the hassle.According to KBB, your Vibe ('04?) in excellent condition, is worth +/- $10K trade-in and +/- $13K retail. Good luck with your negotiations.
I'm a downshift into 1st kinda guy. it's more fun. waiting for an auto to go from 3rd into second is way too long for me. no, you don't have to be going slower than 5. Not sure on the exact spee, but i was able to at less than 15. i'm re-thinking my options. i want a cx-7, but i wouldn't even drive it much. so i think i'll keep the vibe. i don't know.. that one dealer was bad anyways.
If you took the Vibe in with all the current mods, there's your answer to trade-in value. It appeals to a way smaller market. Just take a look the next time you're on the road at the rest of the Vibe owners. I'm guessing they're not quite in your age range...My suggestion would be to return vehicle to stock by seeling off wheels, hood, etc. Then see what another dealer would give you or sell it on your own. This way you get the money from the mods and the price of the vehicle.Several years back, I had a show winning mini-truck. I'm talking shaved, smoothed, carpeted back, custom sound system, custom paint, custom body work, exhuast, built 2.8 V6, rims, dunlops, the works...they offered me the price of a normal S-15 trade-in...they told me straight up that there was no way they could give me what the truck was worth.
I've had my eye on the CX-7 since late 2005 when they were first announced. I've test-driven a couple, rode in another, and made my decision about 3 months ago that it will be my next car. However, with the new house, wedding (this Sunday!), honeymoon, holidays, etc, this won't be happening until Feb or March. I've posted on craig's list and cars.com with no luck so far. I still love my GT, but the CX-7 is just that much better IMHO. Sweet, sweet vehicle. We'll see what happens!
