Pyle & Pyramid

Post by shane_c »

I'm looking for a cheap 6 or 8" sub to put under the passenger seat. Are Pyle & Pyramid absolute garbage?

I had Pyle 8's a long long time ago and they worked well in a Fiero. I am not sure if their technology has advanced much in the last 10 years or so, but back in the '90s they were decent. I would avoid a Pyle h/u like the plague. I bought one last year for my Grand Am because it was red and matched great. The sound quality was horrible--I took it back 10 minutes after installing it.Pyramid is another "old" brand. They are ok, but better brands are out there. If you are looking for something inexpensive, check out Best Buy or circuit city for a package deal. I just got 2 Rockford Fosgate 10's, a box and an amp for $279...

anything you can buy at liquidation world is not going to be top notch, but it doesnt mean it wont work in a pinchnot the high end but it is cheap and since that word is bold I figure it might be what youre looking for.its just older technology but it will thump... absolute garbage may be a touch harsh.

I have two $50 Ascendant Audio Assassin 8"s in my Ford Ranger and they sound great and get pretty loud. RMS is 350w (but you can give a little more, I do). Dunno how much you're looking to spend, but these are pretty much the best 8" subs for the price, and I've had more than a few people think I had 10"s http://www.ascendantaudio.com/assassin8specs.html
