The shop messed up my rim.

Post by Lancer »

Last fall when I took my summer wheels off (the 18" Enkei's), I found a screw had imbedded itself into the rubber. I left it in thier until a week ago when I took it in to get pluged. I went to a place that I've gone to for years for tires and muffler stuff so I figured they could do a nice job and they only charged me $12. I pick it up the next day and I was mostly concerned with the plug until I went to mount it on my car. First I noticed that they forgot to put the center cap back in. then I noticed that they put a 1 1/2" by 1 1/2" scrape on the inside of my $150 rim! I was pi$$ed! I went back to get my cap and to complain and the owner didn't know how that could have happend. And of course they aren't going to fix it or replace it.If I need to have another plug put in you can be sure that I'll be there to watch.

Shops are supposed to be insured for this sort of thing. I'd press the issue a lot further with the shop manager. You should have checked the rim before you left the shop, that way there would be no doubt at all.
